Mrs. Emily Parker Sparkman, 69, wife of James Edward Sparkman, who died Wednesday night at her residence, 600 Linden avenue, was buried yesterday in Oak Grove Cemetery. Funeral services were conducted at 2:30 o'clock at Park View Baptist Church by the Rev. W. H. Baylor, pastor.
During the services the choir sang "Jesus, Lover of My Soul," and "Nearer, My God, to Thee," accompanied by Mrs. Claud Smith.
The casket was covered with a spray of lillies and snapdragons. There were numerous floral tributes, including designs from office force, supply department, general storehouse, Navy Yard; General Commerical employes of Richmond; friends at the Elks, Estelle Martin Circle, Park View Baptist Church; Amoma Bible Class, Park View Baptist Church; Woman's Missionary Society of Park View Baptist Church, storehouse, Navy Yard, and numerous others.
Pallbearers were J. Hudson Parker, Aubrey V. Grimes, W. T. L. Shepherd, D. C. Glover, William Stokes, L. Claiborne Parker and T. B. Parker.
