Portsmouth--Mrs. Essie (Sallie) Cassell of 427 Henry Street, the widow of Lessell Cassell and a native of Portsmouth, died Sunday in her home.
She was a Baptist.
Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Ethel Mae Williams and Misses Edna Cassell and Velma Cassell of Portsmouth, a sister, Mrs. Alice Scott of New York; 27 grandchidren, and 10 great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. in Wright Memorial United Methodist Church by the Rev. Ruth Mayhall. Burial will be in the Cassell Family Cemetery, Chesapake, Visitation at Corprew Funeral Home will be from 10 a.m. today.
