In the name of God amen, I, Andree Bartee of the County of Norfolk and parish Saint Brides being in a low state of health but of sound mind and memory do revoke and ordance this to be my last will and testament for I recommend my soul unto the hands of almighty God who first gave it and my body to the earth to be decently buried by my executo, hereafter and as for my temporal estate after my just debts and funeral charges is paid I desire to despose of as followeth. Item: I give and bequeath unto my loving wife Nancy Bartee my plantation I now live on with all premises thereto and all the rest of my estate during her widowhood, and my desire is after that to give my land and plantation unto my son Andree Bartee and his heirs forever. Item: I give and bequeath unto my son John Bartee my gun to him and his heirs forever and all the remainder part of my estate not before given away. I leave to be equally divided between my children, namely: Mary, Frances, John, William, Thomas and Nancy Bartee to them and their heirs forever; too likewise constitute make and ordain Nancy Bartee and Samuel Etheridge (?) be this my last will and testament and I do hereby (next 2 lines unreadable--check original at courthouse), and confirming this to be my last will and testament. In Witness thereof I have hereunto set my hand and placed my seal this first day of October in the year of our lord and saviour one thousand seven hundred and ninety five.

At a Court held for Norfolk County October the 20th 1795, This last will and testament of Andre Bartee deceased was presented by oath of Caleb Waight and Andre Etheridge, (test not readable), and that the widow of Nancy Bartee and Samuel Etheridge the executor therein named who made oath thereto and together with Saml Hatton, Thomas Tatem, and Martin Thomas their (? ?) unto and acknowledge their bond in the penalty of two thousand dollars, conditioned as the law desires, certificate is granted them for obtaining a probate thereof in due form.
