Scarburgh West, daughter of Lieut. Col. John West and Matilda Scarburgh, was born in Accomac County, Virginia, about 1690. She married Thomas Harding and they moved to North Carolina where they both died. Their children were brought back to relatives in Princess Anne County, where they made their home with William Robinson Smith. 1730. Tully (Colonel) Robinson, born 31 Aug 1658 in Deep Creek, Accomack co VA1739; died 5 Aug 1724 in Accomack, Accomack co VA1740. He was the son of 3460. William (Captain) Robinson and 3461. Elizabeth Tully. He married 1731. Sarah West.
1731. Sarah West, born c. 1669 in Accomack co VA1741; died 30 Jan 1760 in Accomack co VA1742. She was the daughter of 3462. John (Lt Col) West and 3463. Mathilda Scarborough.
Notes for Tully (Colonel) Robinson:
Tully was one of the witnesses of the will of Mary Scarborough which he signed 30 Sept 1691 (2) and also gave oath in court when her will was proved 15 Dec 1691 (2). Tully was executor of his father's will, dated in Norfolk co 16 April 1695 and also received his father's plantation, lands, livestock, saddle, pistol, books and town lot in Elizabeth River (3).
He was a magistrate (1). Tully was a colonel of the militia in Bacon's rebellion (1) (5). He was a Burgess in 1699,1702,1714, 1718, 1722, 1723 (1),(4-XVp442) (5). He was a Vestryman of St George's Church, Pungoteague(1). In 1704 he held 600 acres in Accomack co, 500 acres in Princess Anne(5), (4-XXX-285) (6) and other land in Norfolk county (5).
His tombstone at PoulsonŽs Place in Onancock:
" Col Tully Robinson
late of Accomack co Va. who was born
August 31, 1658 and departed
Nov 12 1723 aged 65
years and twenty days.
A gentleman honorable, an ornament to all places. He was loyal to his prince, unshaken to his friend, and a true believer in the Church of England" (1)
He left a will 1 Nov 1723 which was probated 5 Aug 1724 (5) (4-XXIV-195).
